Second board member meeting of SPWLA Southwest Chapter

      On the afternoon of September 7, 2019, the board members of SPWLA Southwest Chapter held a regular meeting in the Innovation Center D503 of Qingshuihe campus of University of Electronic Science and technology. Wang Hua, Professor of University of Electronic Science and technology chairman of the branch and the board members and representatives from University of Electronic Science and technology, Southwest Petroleum University and Chengdu University of technology attended the meeting. The board members introduced the early filing and affiliation work of the society, counted the registration information of the current member units, the construction of the English website, and arranged the preliminary time and address of the next regular meeting of the society. The board members held a heated discussion on the above topics, and made positive suggestions for the development of the society. During the meeting, Professor Wang Hua, chairman of the society, informed everyone that Harry Xie, senior consultant of nuclear magnetic resonance of Core Laboratories, will come to the University of Electronic Science and technology on September 23 and hold a SPWLA Distinguished Speaker Seminar. He welcomed relevant scholars and practitioners to actively participate in the seminar. The meeting also called on all board members, relevant research scholars and industry experts to actively participate in the Asia Pacific meeting of SPWLA held in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 1-5, 2020.
